ANTI-CORRUPTION REFORM IN UKRAINE: WOULD NEW LEGISLATION BE ENOUGH?

In spite of the governmental and societies understanding of corruption as a major problem of a modern Ukraine, admittedly the pace of anticorruption reforms implementation is not sufficient.

In the middle of October, a group of young Ukrainian researchers had a chance to visit Stockholm, the capital of the leader-state in the worldwide rating of the rule of law.

Ukrainian guests were acquainted with the Swedish experience in combating corruption through the help of the Ministry of Justice, the National Agency for Crime Prevention and the Parliamentary Ombudsman representatives.

The article presents the general framework and the most outstanding problems of the Swedish anticorruption system, correlate these problems with Ukrainian approach to anti-corruption reforms, forms the basic vision of the future changes in Ukrainian anti-corruption legislation.
